I wasn’t sure what to expect when browsing the refined corridors of Metafilter and happening upon a link to a stop-motion Batman short but it took me to a video that’s actually quite fun.
Fun and eerie. The photorealistic quality of the toys used by the filmmakers and the jerky stop-motion lend this six minute fight scene a strange quality, and don’t expect any actual story here. It is essentially a fight scene made with toys, nothing out of the ordinary, but there’s a keen sense of fun here – the Joker switch is a particular example.
It was directed by Derek Kwok and Henri Wong who are based in Hong Kong for their company Parabucks.
