We have almost exactly two months until we blast off into psychedelic outer space with Luc Besson’s new film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. If you think the title is mouthful then you haven’t clocked the trailers yet – this is visionary sci-fi on a breathtaking scale. Early indications are that Besson has created something spectacular here, bringing his own propulsive sensibilities to the dizzying world created by Pierre Christin and illustrator  Jean-Claude Mézières,

Based on the comic book series Valérian and Laureline, Besson’s new film has Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne as time-travelling agents protecting humanity, and very handsome they look too. These new images go behind the scenes, showing off some of the outstanding costume design we’ve come to expect from the director who brought us this…

Fifth ElementEthan Hawke, John Goodman, Rihanna, Clive Owen and the legendary Rutger Hauer complete the cast. We recently posted a very neat looking a behind the scenes featurette from the movie here and watch out for our review of the film, coming to the site very shortly.

Here are the exclusive behind the scenes images from Luc Besson’s Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets. Pre-booking for tickets begins on the 7th – get ready to jump on Besson’s rocket.
