Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man recently found a director in Cop Car’s Jon Watts, and it now appears as if the wall-crawler’s next movie has a couple of writers too. Those are Vacation co-directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, a pair who were at one point considered by the studios to direct this reboot.

They’re said to be in early talks at this point, so expect some more solid details in the coming weeks.

Kevin Feige has said that they want a John Hughes vibe for this new take on Spider-Man as they take Peter Parker back to high school, and this duo seem like a great fit to take the iconic hero in a new direction.

Little is known about the movie at this point, though the first casting additions have seen Tom Holland chosen as the new Spider-Man and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Both actors/characters are actually expected to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time in next year’s Captain America: Civil War.

The untitled Spider-Man reboot is set to be released on July 28th, 2017. Don’t forget to check out the ten villains -Feige has said we’re getting someone new – we most want to see in the movie by clicking here.
