The critical and commercial response to the Angelina Jolie helmed By the Sea (which she stars in alongside Brad Pitt) hasn’t been great, but Universal may be happy to write that off as a loss if the actress and director is willing to say yes to two projects they want her for.

With producers Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan looking to create a shared universe for all the studio’s classic movie monsters – including a reboot of The Mummy in which the titular character is a woman – one of the projects on the way is The Bride of Frankenstein, a role that they’re keen to get her to accept. However, it doesn’t sound like she’s all that interested, and it’s hard to blame Jolie after the tepid response to Dracula Untold.

However, if The Bride of Frankenstein doesn’t work out, it sounds as if they’re just as keen to get her back for Wanted 2. A sequel to Timur Bekmambetov’s 2008 movie (which was based on the Mark Millar comic book of the same name and starred James McAvoy) has been in the works for years, so tempting Jolie back to that franchise could be the way to go.

It remains to be seen whether or not Jolie says yes to either of these, but seeing her in either The Bride of Frankenstein or Wanted 2 would certainly be pretty interesting, eh?
