For her second feature film Angelina Jolie has chosen a stirring, and harrowing tale to tell. Based on Laura Hillenbrand’s 2010 account the film Unbroken is the story of Louis “Louie” Zamperini, an Olympian whose journey of survival and resilience through the Second World War is staggering, and true.
The book was adapted by the Coen Brothers and they, along with a strong cast of Jack O’Connell, Domnhall Gleeson and Garrett Hedlund, make for a fine creative team for Jolie’s sophomore film.
We spoke with the director on the carpet this evening at the film’s UK Premiere, Cassam Looch and Colin Hart were our man there. Here’s what happened.
