Killing Them Softly has finally arrived in US theaters, opening at the weekend, with the ever-brilliant Brad Pitt front and centre in the lead.

The film has been earning very strong reviews from critics – you can read our own review here – and whilst its opening numbers didn’t see it break into the Top 5 at the box office, I think this is going to be very much a film with legs, and if these latest three TV spots help persuade anyone to go out and see the film, then all the better.

“When their poker game is knocked off by petty thieves, the Mob calls in their best enforcer, Jackie Cogan, to make things right. Under the eye of a mysterious driver, Jackie must track down and punish those responsible for the heist. His assignment is complicated by those he comes up against along the way – an aging, drunken hit man, some bumbling local gangsters, and the ladies’ man who ran the ill-fated game.”

Pitt stars alongside one of the finest casts of the year, joined by Scoot McNairy, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta, Ben Mendelsohn, Richard Jenkins, Sam Shepard, and Slaine.

Andrew Dominik (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) is re-teaming here with Pitt, with Dominik directing from his own script, having adapted the original novel by George V. Higgins, Cogan’s Trade.

Killing Them Softly is now playing in theatres across the US, and will be returning to the UK for its DVD/Blu-ray release in February 2013. For now, here are the great new TV spots, which should be more than enough to encourage you to seek this film out, if you haven’t done so already.
