Here’s one for the girls, with a whole 19 new images of Robert Pattinson and a new TV spot for his latest film, Bel Ami, this week.

Directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod with the screenplay written by Rachel Bennette, Bel Ami is a period drama set in 1890s Paris. Pattinson plays the character of George Duroy, a penniless ex-soldier, as the film chronicles his rise to power through his manipulation of the city’s most influential and wealthy women, played by the likes of Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, and Kristin Scott Thomas.

So basically that’s Robert Pattinson having a lot of sex, but with a lot of style and brilliant costume design in the background. Fortunately I’m a fan of the Twilight star who has played great non-vampire roles in films such as Remember Me and Water For Elephants. So is Bel Ami enough to tempt non-Twilight fans to give his acting a chance? I would like to say yes, but from the images and TV spot below it seems that it’s still very much a film for the girls to drool over.

Premiering at the Berlin Film Festival yesterday (17th February), the film is set to be released on 9th March whilst it is yet to acquire a US release date.
