We’re in a world of rainbows and cupcakes. Yes, friends – we are soon to be invaded by a host of trolls. Sadly not the ones hunted by André Øvredal, these are the good luck trolls invented by a Dane in 1959 before gaining stupid amounts of popularity in the 70s and 90s.

A known property is a likely prospect for any money-conscious studio, and so following in the footsteps of Battleship and Transformers in November this year we’ll be seeing a lot more of these plastic creatures in our cinemas.

Dreamworks’ Trolls is the latest toy brand to injected with self-referential humour and a dose of slapstick and there’s a new poster and trailer out today to enjoy.

The film stars Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Russell Brand, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, and Gwen Stefani.
