It kind of feels as though Transformers: The Dark of the Moon has been filming forever and I am tempted to suggest that in order to meet next summer’s release date they might want to wrap shooting and crack on with rendering the likely absurd levels of CGI that will be needed for the assorted robot action that will be on show.

Anyhow, those are matters for Paramount, Dreamworks and Michael Bay to concern themselves with. As shooting continues apace, we now have an on-set snap, courtesy of Inner City Press, set in the General Assembly Hall of the UN building in New York.

The accompanying story from Inner City Press makes quite interesting reading, expressing a level of concern over the lack of announcements and even awareness within the UN’s Public Information Department as to the use to which the UN building is being put.

Whether the finished scene will have a load of added Autobot and Decepticon goodness, or will be a diplomatic plea of “can’t we all just get along?”, we will see next summer.

Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
