Earlier in the week, we got our first good look at Optimus Prime’s return in Michael Bay’s anticipated Transformers: Age of Extinction, and judging by the rather epic sword he was holding, it’s going to be another explosive blockbuster from Bay.
As promised, the latest issue of Empire has brought with it more images from next summer’s titan, as well as revealing new details from the film.

Mark Wahlberg is leading the charge this time around, and he stars as inventor Cade Yeager. When Yeager discovers a buried Transformer, the stage is set for their return.
Nicola Peltz stars as Yeager’s daughter, Tessa; Jack Reynor as her secret racing driver boyfriend; Stanley Tucci as geologist Joshua; Sophia Myles as Tucci’s assistant, Darcy; Li Bingbing as “the CEO of the Chinese Transformers”; and Kelsey Grammer as the human antagonist, Harold Attinger.
Bay is directing once more from a script penned by Ehren Kruger, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura producing.
Transformers: Age of Extinction will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on June 27th, 2014 in the US, with its UK release date following on 10th July.
