Jack-the-Giant-Slayer-BannerFebruary featured some very impressive box office performances, with Seth Gordon’s Identity Thief performing very well in recent weeks. A Good Day to Die Hard took home the Valentine’s weekend, with the Nicholas Sparks adaptation, Safe Haven, also doing very well over the romantic weekend. With March now ahead of us, we’ve got a lot to look forward to this month at the cinema, and so I thought we’d give you a run-down of the top 10 must-see movies of the month.

Jack the Giant Slayer – 1st March US, 22nd March UK

First up on the block is Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer. Opening today in the US, 1st March, the film is expected to top the box office this weekend, with Nicholas Hoult returning in the lead after a #1 weekend with Warm Bodies last month.

The film is of course a retelling of the classic fairy tale. And to help bring it up to modern day, it’s in 3D and IMAX 3D, which should help boost the numbers in the next few days.

Hoult is joined by a great cast, led by Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, and Eleanor Tomlinson in the female lead.

Singer is making a long-awaited return behind the camera here, with his last film, Valkyrie, released back in 2008.

We’ve got X-Men: Days of Future Past to look forward to from the director next, and whilst we’re admittedly a lot more excited about Days of Future Past, Jack the Giant Slayer looks like it should be plenty of epic-sized action and fun in the meantime.
