Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi held an impromptu Facebook Live broadcast a little earlier today to announce that Thor: Ragnarok has wrapped shooting. You can watch that below, and while not an awful lot was revealed about what we should expect from the movie, the filmmaker introduced viewers to an actor who will be playing Miek in the Phase 3 release.

If you’ve read Planet Hulk, that name should be familiar as the alien was one of the gladiatorial combatants who aligned themselves with the Jade Giant during that tale.

Thor: Ragnarok is expected to loosely adapt that, though this time Thor will be joining him!

Also in the video is a first look at the make-up which will be worn by Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, while Waititi points out a crashed spaceship and cloaked “scrappers” who are part of some sort of, “sci-fi space wasteland we’ve been building.” Marvel is clearly ending production with a bang then, and it will be interesting to see when we end up getting our first look at Thor: Ragnarok. Unfortunately, next year at the earliest is likely the safest bet.

Either way, Thor: Ragnarok is shaping up to be one of 2017’s most exciting and unique superhero movies and marks the first time Marvel has three titles coming out in the same year (the other two being Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming).
