We’ve already seen the first trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming, but it sounds like we should probably start getting ready for a look at more from Thor: Ragnarok in the very near future. That’s because Marvel Studios has today released a revealing synopsis alongside a behind the scenes image with Chris Hemsworth.

These plot details confirm a lot of rumours, including the fact that the God of Thunder will be left without Mjolnir and that he’ll end up having to face The Hulk in a gladiatorial arena.

In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of his universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first, he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!

That sounds amazing, and with Asgard on the line, it’s clear that Hela will be a significant threat. It was recently confirmed that Doctor Strange will be making an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok, so expect to learn much more about this movie as we get closer to November.

How long we’ll be waiting for that remains to be seen, but this synopsis and image is a good start, and a teaser being attached to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in May makes sense!
