Two years ago, the huge success of the Daniel Radcliffe-led horror The Woman in Black confirmed Hammer’s comeback. Next year, the production company is coming back with the sequel, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death, with relative newcomer Phoebe Fox taking the lead alongside Jeremy Irvine (War Horse).

The first film took more than $120m. at the global box office, an impressive feat for any film, and even more so for a film made outside of the US. And now we’ve got our first taste of the horrors in store for us next year, with the first teaser trailer landing online.

As bombs rain down on London during the Blitz of World War II, a group of school children are evacuated with Eve, their young and beautiful schoolteacher, to the safety of the English countryside. Taken to an old and empty estate, cut-off by a causeway from the mainland, they are left at Eel Marsh House.

One by one the children begin acting strangely and Eve, with the help of local military commander Harry, discovers that the group has awoken a dark force even more terrifying and evil than the city’s air raids. Eve must now confront her own demons to save the children and escape the wrath of The Woman in Black.

Fox and Irvine are joined by Helen McCrory (Harry Potter) and Oaklee Pendergast (The Impossible).

Harper (Peaky Blinders) directs from a script by Jon Croker (Fast Girls), with Hammer’s CEO Simon Oakes (Let Me In) producing.

The Woman in Black: Angel of Death is set to hit UK and Irish cinemas on February 13th, 2015. Still no word on a US release date, but after the success of the first film, you can probably expect this to at least get a limited theatrical run early next year on the other side of the Atlantic.
