The-Wolverine-Teaser-Poster-Silver-SamuraiJames Mangold’s highly anticipated The Wolverine enters a hugely successful franchise for Fox this summer, marking the latest entry in the X-Men movies that began so brilliantly back in 2000 with Bryan Singer’s X-Men.

After catching an awesome new trailer for the film last week, showing us the footage previewed to conventiongoers at CinemaCon, Mangold has revealed a brilliant new teaser poster on Twitter.

As we are beginning to offer glimpses of Silver Samurai, here’s a new great one sheet image for #thewolverine pic.twitter.com/iP9BDu1rWJ

Similar in style to that epic first teaser poster (which the studio have reportedly been having trouble with in the US, because people keep stealing them from bus shelters), this latest one sheet gives us a look instead at Silver Samurai.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

Hugh Jackman is of course front and centre once more as Logan / Wolverine. And starring alongside him is an awesome cast, led by Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto, Will Yun Lee, Hal Yamanouchi, Brian Tee, and Svetlana Khodchenkova.

Mangold is directing from a script co-written by Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback. And Jackman also produces alongside Hutch Parker, John Palermo (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Drive), and Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men, Constantine).

The Wolverine will be released in 3D on July 26th in the US and UK, which is definitely a release date you should be committing to memory, if you haven’t already. And with Singer returning to the helm for next year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, things couldn’t be looking better for the franchise and its fans.
