The-Wolverine-Japanese-PosterEasily earning itself a top spot amongst our must-see movies of the month, James Mangold’s The Wolverine brings Hugh Jackman back to the big screen in what promises to be one of the best blockbusters of the year.

It’s been four long years since we last saw Logan (properly, excluding First Class), and with Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past on the horizon, things are definitely looking good for fans of the character.

Earlier this week, we saw a brilliant new featurette and a handful of character images from Mangold’s upcoming film. And now a new Japanese poster has surfaced online, with Jackman himself front and centre.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

Starring alongside Jackman is a brilliant cast, led by Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Will Yun Lee, Hal Yamanouchi, and Brian Tee.

Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) is directing from a script co-written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), Mark Bomback (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), and Scott Frank (Minority Report).

The Wolverine will be released in 3D on 25th July in the UK, with its US release date landing the following day on July 26th. Whilst we count down the days, here’s the latest Japanese poster to get you in the mood.
