Of the many, many comic book characters that have been committed to the big screen, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is definitely one of my favourite, so I’m naturally really looking forward to The Wolverine at the end of the month.
We’ve seen nothing but good things from the blockbuster in recent months. And after the first clip landed online this week, Fox have released a new clip through Yahoo Movies, giving us a look at Logan bursting into action when Mariko is threatened.
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
Starring alongside Jackman is a brilliant ensemble, led by Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Will Yun Lee, Hal Yamanouchi, and Brian Tee.
James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) is behind the camera on this one, directing from a script written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), Mark Bomback (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), and Scott Frank (Minority Report).
The Wolverine will be released in 3D on 25th July here in the UK, following a day later in the US on July 26th. Here’s the new clip to get you in the mood.
