The Transporter Refuelled recasts Jason Statham’s role from the original trilogy, with Game of Thrones’ Ed Skrein taking over in his place.

EuropaCorp is kicking off what they hope will be a new trilogy. They moved the film just out of the summer blockbuster season with the intention of giving it a better shot at box office glory. But with so many films arriving in the first weekend of September, it’s still got an uphill battle.

When Frank (Ed Skrein) is hired by cunning femme fatale Anna and her three stunning sidekicks, he quickly discovers he’s been played. Anna and her cohorts have kidnapped his father (Ray Stevenson) in order to coerce Frank into helping them take down a ruthless group of Russian human traffickers. Fueled by revenge, he will break all his rules and stop at nothing to rescue his father in this action-packed thrill ride across the French Riviera.

Loan Chabanol, Ray Stevenson, Gabrielle Wright, and Radivoje Bukvic round out the cast.

Camille Delamarre (Brick Mansions) directs from a script co-written by Bill Collage and Adam Cooper (Assassin’s Creed) and Luc Besson (Leon).

The Transporter Refuelled is due to be released on 4th September in the UK and US.
