If you’ve heard anything about Ben Stiller’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty so far this year, then you’ll no doubt know that there’s already Oscar buzz surrounding it, and that the film is going to blend genres, blur realism, and be altogether one of the most unique films of the year.
The very impressive first trailer surfaced this time last month. And now Fox have released the first teaser poster, via MSN, giving us a look at Stiller defying gravity and walking across the sky with New York City beneath him.
Ben Stiller directs and stars in THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, James Thurber’s classic story of a day-dreamer who escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker (Kristen Wiig) are threatened, Walter takes action in the real world embarking on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined.
Kristen Wiig, Adam Scott, and Sean Penn lead a stellar cast alongside him, with the four joined by Kathryn Hahn, Patton Oswalt, and Shirley MacLaine.
Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness) has penned the script from which Stiller is directing, with the film remaking the 1947 movie of the same name, which is in turn based on James Thurber’s original short story.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty will be released in the US on Christmas Day, and is set to arrive in UK cinemas on Boxing Day.
