Guy-Pearce-and-Robert-Pattinson-in-The-RoverAfter making a powerful feature directorial debut back in 2010 with the Oscar-nominated Animal Kingdom, David Michôd returns behind the camera for his anticipated sophomore effort, The Rover.

Led by Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson, the dramatic thriller is set to be released across the Atlantic summer, and A24 has launched a brilliant first teaser trailer for the film today.

10 years following the collapse of society, a man will go to any lengths to take back the one thing that still matters to him.

Scoot McNairy heads up the supporting cast, alongside David Field, Anthony Hayes, Gillian Jones, and Susan Prior.

Michôd directs from his own script, based on a story he co-wrote with past collaborator Joel Edgerton.

The film marks Pattinson’s first role since the conclusion of The Twilight Saga back in 2012, and we can’t wait to see him opposite Pearce in Michôd’s second feature. Pearce looks exceptional when you see him voicing the monologue voice-over, thoroughly convincing as a man who’s been alive for a decade after the collapse of society.

The Rover is set to hit US cinemas this summer. No word yet on a firm release date for either side of the Atlantic, but hopefully that will all change soon. In the meantime, here’s the first teaser trailer. Enjoy.
