The-Lone-Ranger-PosterDisney have been gearing up nicely for The Lone Ranger this week, launching the final US trailer, along with a live Q&A with lead actors Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp, director Gore Verbinski, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

The blockbuster is one of the biggest movies hitting cinemas this summer. And following on nicely from this week’s latest trailer comes a new international trailer, which features plenty of new footage to enjoy.

Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice–taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

Armie Hammer takes the eponymous lead as John Reid / The Lone Ranger, with Johnny Depp starring opposite him as Tonto. And the pair are joined by a great cast, led by Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, and Ruth Wilson.

Verbinski is directing from a script written by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott, who penned all four of the Pirates films, and Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road).

Having worked together on the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films, as well as the Oscar-winning Rango, it’s clear to see that Verbinski and Depp have a very strong working relationship. So strong, in fact, that Depp lobbied to keep Verbinski at the helm when the project became something of a question mark at the studio over budget issues.

With its somewhat rocky production well in the past now, things have been looking brilliant for the duo’s reunion in recent months, and we can’t wait to see the film land this summer.

The Lone Ranger will be released on July 3rd in the US, with its UK release date following a few weeks later on 9th August. For now, here’s the new international trailer to help set the tone. It looks like it’s going to be one of Disney’s many big successes this year.
