The Lone Ranger will see Johnny Depp return to the big screen once more for director Gore Verbinski, following a brilliant partnership that has so far included three Pirates of the Caribbean films and the Oscar-winning Rango.
The big-budget Disney action/western is one of the biggest blockbusters of next summer, and after catching the first trailer back in October, the studio have now released a full-length trailer to give us a great new look at the film.
Armie Hammer stars in the lead as John Reid / The Lone Ranger, himself, with Depp interestingly taking up the sidekick role as Tonto.
“Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice–taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.”
A brilliant cast stars alongside them, headed up Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, and Helena Bonham Carter.
Verbinski is also reuniting with writing duo Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott, who penned all four Pirates films, and who co-wrote the script with Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road).
The Lone Ranger will be hitting the big screen on 3rd July, 2013 over in the US, and is set to arrive on our shores on 9th August. As with pretty much everything Depp does, this is going to be a must-see.
