A couple of months ago Cassam Looch and I headed to a set somewhere in Belfast on a beautiful sunny day. All we knew was that we were heading to ‘The Lodge’, a new Disney TV show set to air in over 100 countries.

If you’re a fan of High School Musical, Disney’s The Lodge is a show you’re going to absolutely love.

The show tells the story of Skye, a city girl who moves to her grandfather’s lodge in an attempt to save it from financial ruin. Skye is determined to keep The Lodge open and brings together a group of staff and friends to make sure it cannot fail.

The Lodge is based on an Israeli show called The Northstar (the name of lodge) and in true Disney style they’ve taken the concept, written nine original songs and fantastic dance routines (one of which we saw on set) to make this show one that we think is set to explode. When you hear the songs you won’t be able to get them out of your head!

During our visit, we also sat down with Sophie Simnett (Skye), Thomas Doherty (Sean), Jade Alleyne (Kaylee), Jayden Revri (Noah), Bethan Wright (Danielle), Luke Newton (Ben)  and Producer Raymond Lau who all spoke about getting their role in the show, who their characters are and their love for music and dance.

The show features love triangles, loads of outdoor adventure (in the same way High School Musical used basketball) and song and dance to get pre-teens, teenagers and no doubt parents dancing around their houses!

Check out our exclusive interviews and set visit in the video below.

Disney’s The Lodge will premiere on Disney Channel at 5.30pm on Friday 23rd September 2016.
