Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what’s worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss’s family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins’s groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.
Jennifer Lawrence is of course reprising her leading role once more as Katniss Everdeen, with Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Stanley Tucci, Jena Malone, Julianne Moore, Donald Sutherland, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Natalie Dormer, Stef Dawson, and Jeffrey Wright heading up the sizable ensemble cast.
Francis Lawrence is back in the director’s chair for the final two-parter, directing from a script penned by Danny Strong (Game Change, Lee Daniels’ The Butler), with Peter Craig (The Town) also working on the script, adapting Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 will be released on November 21st in the US and UK, and is all but guaranteed to open with record-breaking figures.
