Having finally had its official world premiere this week here in London, the early reviews are in for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and things are definitely looking good. Our own Ben Mortimer thought the sequel was brilliant – you can read our review here – and with just over a week to go before it hits cinemas, all signs point to another hugely successful box office run.

Lionsgate launched the final trailer at the end of last month, and with just days separating us from its arrival in cinemas, clips from the movie are starting to land online, and you can catch three from the upcoming sequel below.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Jennifer Lawrence reprises her leading role as Katniss Everdeen, and she’s joined by another fantastic cast, led by Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Elizabeth Banks, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Willow Shields, and Donald Sutherland.

Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) is at the helm this time around, with Simon Beaufoy (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire) penning the script, based on Suzanne Collins’ original novel.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is released in regular and IMAX cinemas on 21st November in the UK and November 22nd in the US.
