The end of a very long and unexpectedly emotional journey is here. As the cast and crew gathered for one final Middle-Earth inspired world Premiere the curtain falls on an extraordinary films series.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is the final chapter, marketed as the defining chapter, in Peter Jackson’s Tolkien adaptations. In reality it is something of a greatest hits album, not without its emotional punches of its own, but it is a fitting end to our journey.

Peter Jackson fields questions on an Extended Edition of the last Hobbit film, confirming there is another thirty minutes to add the 144 minutes, and that this really is the end as the Tolkien estate own the film rights to everything bar The Hobbit and LotR.

We gave the film a glowing review last night and today we bring you the complete press conference from London.
