The-Heat-Teaser-PosterFollowing up from 2011’s immensely successful Bridesmaids, Paul Feig returns behind the camera this spring to bring us The Heat, the action-comedy led by Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.

We saw the first trailer for the film back in November, and with its release just over three months away, Fox have debuted a new international trailer giving us another good look at the comedy.

And whilst it doesn’t have an official red-band rating, there’s enough swearing here to make it unsuitable for work.

“Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence–and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.’s “finest,” is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies.”

Starring alongside Bullock and McCarthy will be Michael Rapaport, Demián Bichir, Kaitlin Olson, Taran Killam, Andy Buckley, Nathan Corddry, and Tony Hale.

Feig is directing from a script by Katie Dippold (MADtv, Parks and Recreation), who is making her feature debut as a writer.

Feig is of course reuniting with McCarthy following their work on Bridesmaids. McCarthy has since become one of the most recognisable names and faces in comedy, and it will be really interesting to see her starring opposite Bullock in The Heat. The two are something of an unexpected pairing, and I think that’s exactly why this has potential. That, and Paul Feig is a bit of a genius.

The Heat will be released in the UK and US on 5th April. Given the status of its two leading female stars, it’s likely to open big when it hits if Fox can build up the buzz in the coming weeks. Here’s the latest trailer to give you an idea of what to expect.

And one final reminder: There’s swearing aplenty, making this one NSFW.
