Following a panel at the New York Comic-Con, Universal Pictures has released an exciting new trailer for The Great Wall which shows off more epic footage from the action-packed release. The first teaser wasn’t bad, but a greater focus was put on alleged whitewashing than the actual scenes it revealed, so it will be interesting to see how this one is received.

Starring Matt Damon and directed by one of the most breathtaking visual stylists of our time, Zhang Yimou (House of Flying Daggers), Legendary’s The Great Wall tells the story of an elite force making a valiant stand for humanity on the world’s most iconic structure. The first English-language production for Yimou is the largest film ever shot entirely in China, and the cast of The Great Wall also includes Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe and Andy Lau.

While the movie being a hit in China is pretty much a certainty, it’s going to be interesting to see if The Great Wall ends up having mainstream appeal overseas. Bear in mind that it comes out on the same day as The Dark Tower and during a month which also features the release of The LEGO Batman Movie and Fifty Shades Darker, so competition is tough!
