J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek sequel was officially titled Star Trek Into Darkness last month, and after giving it its full name, the director himself debuted the first sneak peek clip on Conan last night – and it is a full three frames long!

So when we say sneak peek, it’s definitely exactly that. A peek. But it’s an awesome peek. And spoiler alert: It gives us a look at Zachary Quinto as Spock.

The official synopsis is still forthcoming, and will most likely remain largely unknown before it finally hits theatres next May.

Penned by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek, Transformers) alongside Damon Lindelof (Prometheus), the film sees the fantastic cast reprising their roles with a handful of great new faces, making for a cast headed up by Karl Urban, Quinto, Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Alice Eve, and Noel Clarke.

Star Trek Into Darkness will be arriving in theatres on 17th May, 2013, and is reported to have been shot using IMAX cameras, so expect a release on the big, big screen. For now, here’s your first super sneak peek at the sequel, which hits around the 1:50 mark. Enjoy.
