In one of the biggest literary adaptations of the year, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort are set to be the tear-jerking couple of the summer season in The Fault in Our Stars.
Fox launched the first trailer back in January, introducing us to Hazel and Gus from John Green’s best-selling novel. And with June really just a few weeks away, the studio have launched a new trailer over on Yahoo Movies, giving us a new, longer look at what’s to come.
Hazel (Shailene Woodley) and Gus (Ansel Elgort) are two extraordinary teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them — and us — on an unforgettable journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous, given that they met and fell in love at a cancer support group.
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, based upon the number-one bestselling novel by John Green, explores the funny, thrilling and tragic business of being alive and in love.
Nat Wolff, Willem Dafoe, Laura Dern, Lotte Verbeek, Sam Trammell, Emily Peachey, and Mike Birbiglia complete the cast, with Birbiglia’s role in particular looking pretty great here.
Josh Boone (Stuck in Love) makes his sophomore feature behind the camera, with Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber ((500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now) adapting the script, and reuniting with Woodley having worked together on The Spectacular Now last year.
The Fault in Our Stars will be released in the US on June 6th, two weeks ahead of its 20th June UK release date. In the meantime, here’s the latest trailer to remind you what you’ve got to look forward to.
