The-Family-PosterIt’s been two years since Luc Besson was last behind the camera for the biopic, The Lady, and this year he makes a welcome return to the director’s chair with the comedy actioner The Family.

Previously known as Malavita, the movie sees Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer take the lead, and Relativity have released the first poster through Yahoo Movies, along with a handful of first images.

A mafia boss and his family are relocated to a sleepy town in France under the witness protection program after snitching on the mob. Despite the best efforts of Agent Stansfield to keep them in line, Fred Manzoni, his wife Maggie and their children Belle and Warren can’t help but revert to old habits and blow their cover by handling their problems the “family” way, enabling their former mafia cronies to track them down.

De Niro and Pfeiffer star alongside Tommy Lee Jones, Diana Agron, and John D’Leo.

Besson is directing from a script he co-wrote with Michael Caleo (The Last Time), with Martin Scorsese serving as executive producer.

The Family is set to be released in the US on September 20th, and has its UK release date set for a little later in the year on 8th November. Whilst we wait for the incoming first trailer, here’s the first poster along with a handful of images from the film.
