Many fans of Stephen King will certainly be familiar with his series of novels, The Dark Tower. On the 28th of July his ambitious story comes to the big screen. not as the typical adaptation we’ve all come to expect but as a quasi-sequel which is a continuation from the ending of The Dark Tower VII.

Nikolaj Arcel, who directed A Royal Affair, has taken the helm on Kings sci-fi western horror with a cast of Idris Elba as Roland Deschian, a frontiersman Knight, Matthew McConaughey as Walter O’Dim, an ageless deceiver and sorcerer and Tom Taylor as Jake Chambers a son like figure to Deschain who helps him complete his journey.

With a lack of official synopsis for The Dark Tower available we can’t divulge too much of the plot but it centres around Jake, a child adventurer who uncovers numerous clues regarding another dimension. While following the clues and being transported to this other dimension he encounters Deschain on his quest to reach the Dark Tower but their path is far from a smooth one with the threat of monsters and the evil sorcerer, Walter O’Dim hot on their trail.

Yesterday a completely mind-bending teaser poster was released for the film which portrays two different views depending on which way round you look at it. From one angle, you have an upside down view of a street with Elba and Taylor’s backs to the camera on their quest, while if you flip the poster on its head you get a slightly different view with McConaughey walking towards them (which we have to admit completely missed that the first time we saw it).

See the poster below and let us know your thoughts.
