The-Conjuring-PosterDirector James Wan has recently been set by Universal to helm next summer’s Fast and Furious 7, but before he gets into the big-budget action blockbuster, he’s got another two horror movies on his slate before the year’s end. He’ll kick things off this summer with the anticipated The Conjuring, and will be back in the autumn/fall with Insidious: Chapter 2.

The latest trailer for the former hit early last month, giving us a terrific new look at the upcoming horror/thriller, which Wan has said was given an R rating in the US for simply being too scary. And naturally, our interest is piqued.

With its July release date fast approaching, Warner Bros. have debuted a great new poster, featuring a rather creepy little doll.

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, “The Conjuring” tells the horrifying tale of how world renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson star as the leading couple, Ed and Lorraine Warren. And starring alongside them will be Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Joey King, and Mackenzie Foy.

Wan (Saw, Insidious) is behind the camera, directing from a script co-written by Chad and Carey Hayes (House of Wax, The Reaping).

The Conjuring will be released in the US on July 19th, and has had its UK release date set back a little to 2nd August.
