The-Amazing-Spider-Man-2-Poster-sliceMarc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is undeniably one of the most anticipated blockbusters of the year, sure to be one of the highest earners at the box office in the coming months.

Sony launched a brilliant first trailer in time for Christmas last year, setting the tone masterfully for the second instalment in what will at least be a quadrilogy, not to mention a new Cinematic Universe for Sony. Since then, the have released an international trailer teasing more of the comedic elements, and more recently an awesome Super Bowl TV spot that was swiftly followed by an extended 4-minute ‘Enemies Unite’ sizzle reel.

With less than three months on the clock before Peter Parker is back in action on our screens, the studio have released another fantastic new trailer to whet our appetites.

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone reprise their leading roles as Peter Parker / Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy, with a great new roster joining them for the sequel, led by Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Chris Cooper, Brian Haley, Colm Feore, and B.J. Novak.

Webb returns to the helm with a script penned by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Transformers, Star Trek) and Jeff Pinkner (Lost, Fringe), based on an original draft by James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man).

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be hitting cinemas in 3D and IMAX 3D on 18th April in the UK, with its US release date following on May 2nd. In the meantime, here’s the latest trailer to build your anticipation. Enjoy.
