Until now, the Terminator reboot had gone by the name Terminator: Genesis.

Paramount hadn’t been using the title in any official capacity, but it was the name that got out. Now it looks like the title wasn’t quite right, with Arnold Schwarzenegger teasing a photo from the set, thanking everyone for their hard work as production finished.

And it reveals that the title is in fact not Terminator: Genesis, but Terminator: Genisys.

Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I’ll be back.

Schwarznegger returns to lead the franchise reboot, joined by Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Dayo Okeniyi, Matt Smith, Lee Byun-hun, and J.K. Simmons.

Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) has taken the helm, with Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) co-writing the script.

Not much is known about the plot, but Paramount and Skydance are eyeing it as the first in a new trilogy, so expect doors to be left open by the time the credits roll.

Terminator: Genisys is landing in the UK on June 26th, 2015, ever so slightly earlier than its July 1st US release date.
