When the final trailer for Terminator: Genisys hit there was a lot of new footage, expanding what we knew already about the film’s plot and the subsequent timeline rewriting.
It also showed one of our lead characters in a way which was a complete surprise, and fundamentally changed the character relationships and dynamic. The new IMAX poster has a similarly cavalier attitude to this central spoiler, which is baffling to me.
So friends, if you want to remain unspoiled for what the film holds for our character hit the back button and skedaddle.

The central notion that Sarah Connor had tamed a Terminator, played an old Arnold Schwarzenegger, was well known. Casting Arnie thirty years after his appearance in James Cameron’s film made spoilers a moot point.
However as you can see in the poster below the true nature of Jason Clarke’s iteration of John Connor is revealed.
There was a similar reveal in the trailers for Terminator: Salvation with Sam Worthington’s character also revealed to be a Terminator of some sort. Quite why this has to be revealed is a complete mystery to us. Common sense says that it’s not a huge plot point, but surely this twist would have been better left to the film itself…
Terminator: Genisys opens in the UK on the 2nd of July.
