While he did come back last year in the critically-savaged though reasonably successful Terminator Genisys, Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning once as StudioCanal have announced an all-new 3D version of 1991’s epic Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Check out the new poster below!

Directed by James Cameron, the sequel was back in the 1990’s the most expensive film ever made with an estimated cost of over $100million for producers Carolco but the director’s vision was so astounding that it changed the face of visual effects for a generation, an impact we are still feeling today. In T2, Schwarzenegger is sent back in time again to 1994, reprogrammed as the new protector for the younger John Connor and his incarcerated mother Sarah as they are hunted by the technologically-advanced new Terminator, the T-1000.

Co-starring Linda Hamilton as Sarah, Edward Furlong and Robert Patrick as the memorably-terrifying T-1000, T2 was 1991’s biggest film grossing around $520million worldwide whilst also winning four Academy Awards.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation and the aforementioned Genisys followed but none of them were able to re-capture Cameron’s feverish vision of machines taking over the world.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D is set for release in 2017.
