Following the release of a 30 second teaser, FX have now debuted a full-length 90 second trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain, and it offers up our best look at the series yet as we get a closer look at both the impressive cast and more than a few moments which will likely make you jump!
Based on a trilogy of novels (which were later turned into a Dark Horse comic book series) from Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro and author Chuck Hogan, a small screen adaptation of The Strain is set to debut on FX this July. The first season will consist of 13 episodes, and Del toro will direct and co-write the pilot alongside Hogan. Former Lost co-showrunner Carlton Cuse is set to run the series and executive produce.
We still don’t know how much this live-action version The Strain will differ from the novels and comic books, but it certainly seems to have retained the horror elements from those, and along with Penny Dreadful (which has been renewed for a second season), there’s a lot of scary stuff of television right now!
