Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll is a film by Marilyn Manson that was due to begin filming in 2006 and star Lily Cole as ‘Alice’. The film was put on hold though and the project semi-abandoned. There have been no further announcements about the film going back into production but Manson has supposedly hinted that he is intending to return to the project.

Although when I first heard about Phantasmagoria I thought the film had a somewhat fascinating idea I was very skeptical about whether Manson could pull off a feature film without it being merely an extended music video.

We now have a chance to glimpse at what the film would have looked like or may still. The teaser is unsurprisingly very stylised and also very NSFW and although I am still unsure whether this could be an exciting film I am certainly intrigued again. Let us know what you think.

Below are the details on the clip from Marilyn-Manson.net

Teaser trailer for the Marilyn Manson-intended, written and directed, feature-length film titled ‘Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll’. Originally conceived in 2004 with pre-production through-out 2005 via The Wild Bunch (UK) and with an initial budget of $5-7 Million, ‘Phantasmagoria’ was due to begin filming in 2006 and is now on indefinite production hold.

Lily Cole, inspiration of Tim Burton’s recent ‘Alice in Wonderland’, was originally cast as Manson’s Alice for ‘Phantasmagoria’.

This teaser also features real-life twin sisters engaging in questionable acts and burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese in artistic, full-nude. The figure in the medical mask is artist Gottfried Helnwein and the bird-face masked character and white gloved Lewis Carroll impresario, is Marilyn Manson.
