Stranger Things took the world by storm when it debuted on Netflix last year, so the news that it had been renewed for a second season was welcomed by fans of the sci-fi/horror.

While plot details are understandably being kept under wraps, we now know that it will premiere on October 31st, an appropriate date when you think back to just how terrifying so many parts of the first batch of episodes were. Accompanying that announcement is a brief teaser which kicks off with an Eggo Waffle commercial before things get seriously…strange.

The young cast of Stranger Things are all returning (including Eleven, who we get a glimpse of in the video below), and joining them are David Harbour and Winona Ryder. New additions include Paul Reiser, Sean Astin, and Linnea Berthelsen. The events of season two take place a year after season one, so who knows what’s been going on in the Upside Down in that time.

With a healthy mix of 80s nostalgia and quality storytelling and scares, Stranger Things now stands out as one of Netflix’s best original dramas. Thankfully, everyone involved from a creative standpoint will be back, so here’s hoping it’s able to deliver this coming Halloween!
