The Upside Down is coming up from below! Netflix has today announced some new details on their hugely-anticipated release of the second season of Stranger Things, which is coming this Halloween. Scroll down for a brand new poster, Twitter tease, and a new synopsis.

After the events of Season One came to a conclusion, Will had returned to his mother (Winona Ryder) but wasn’t himself. Now it seems something has followed him back from the Upside Down and is intent on brings doom and destruction to the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana. And what of Eleven? Having “vanished” after the encounter with the demagorgon, will she be the same if she survived the attack?

1953, date unknown – MKUltra comes to Hawkins and begins experimentation

1979 – Police Chief Jim Hopper returns to Hawkins

1983, November 6 – The vanishing of Will Byers

1983, November 8 – The vanishing of Barbara Holland

2016, July 15 – Part 1

2017, October 27 – Part 2

It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demagorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

Created by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Materazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalie Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono and Matthew Modine, with Sean Astin (The Goonies) and Paul Reiser (Aliens) joining the cast for the second season.

Season Two now arrives on Netflix on October 27th.
