There wasn’t a huge amount of news to come out of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, but Lucasfilm have released the amazing featurette shown off to fans in attendance.
The video contains loads of behind the scenes footage with a real emphasis on the practical effects used by J.J. Abrams, along with interviews with the cast, concept art, and some amazing snippets of footage.
While we didn’t get a movie slate reveal during the panel, it has now been revealed that Domhnall Gleason is playing the villainous General Hux, the commander of the First Order’s headquarters, which is named Starkiller Base as a way of paying homage to the name George Lucas was going to give Luke Skywalker.
It was also mentioned that the next trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released in the Fall.
Oh, and just to make you wish even more that you were there, fans who went to the panel were taken to a live concert when it came to an end and given free lighsabers! What a memorable night for them, eh?
Starring original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and franchise newcomers, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released on December 18th, 2015.
