Shooting on Bourne 5 is currently under way, but the cast continues to grow, with Riz Ahmed the latest addition to the highly anticipated release. Matt Damon will obviously (and thankfully) be reprising the role of Jason Bourne, and the impressive cast so far also includes Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel, Scott Shepherd, Tommy Lee Jones, and Julia Stiles.

Paul Greengrass is directing and co-wrote the script with Christopher Rouse and Damon. Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner and Ben Smith for Captivate Entertainment. Greengrass, while Damon and Gregory Goodman are also producing.

Plot details are unknown at this time, though Variety reveals that the Star Wars: Rogue One actor is going to be playing a tech specialist at the CIA. Ahmed was apparently always the top choice to for this “key” role in Bourne 5, but his commitment to Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars spinoff very nearly messed things up. His schedule has now been worked out though!

The currently untitled movie is set to be released on July 29th, 2016, the date which was originally held by the Jeremy Renner led Bourne Legacy follow-up. However, after the tepid response to that movie, it’s hardly a surprise that Universal decided to prioritise this collaboration from veteran Bourne director Paul Greengrass and the returning Damon.
