The most recent draft of the Star Wars saga has been written by director Trevorrow and his long time writing partner Derek Connolly, however the decision has been made bring in an outsider to give it a once over and tie up any stray lines. This is relatively normal for any major release, especially in a franchise that is so precious to so many outside of the studio making it.

Thorne adapted the script for the upcoming Stephen Chbosky directed Wonder which stars Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Jacob Tremblay. Well known for his television work which includes Shameless and the This is England set of series. His theatrical work includes the latest JK Rowling hit –  Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which is currently playing at the Palace Theatre in Central London.

However, Thorne already has a connection with the Star Wars character John Boyega – Thorne adapted the screenplay for Woyzeck which played at the Old Vic Theatre and starred Boyega.

With the production of Episode IX due to start in January 2018 and depending on what transpires in The Last Jedi, the likes of Daisy Ridley John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver are all expected to make a comeback on the saga that never ends, and which is due to be released in to cinemas on May 24 2019.
