Mark Hamill has a lot of geek cred, and not just because of Star Wars! He’s voiced The Joker in various mediums over the years, and will soon make an appearance in Matthew Vaughn’s big screen adaptation of Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ comic book, The Secret Service. Next? He’s heading to The Flash on TV!

What you may not realise is that Hamill actually played a villain called The Trickster in the short-lived ’90s Flash TV show, and while that’s not set in the same world as the current series (John Wesley Shipp – who played Barry Allen – now plays this Barry’s father for example), he’ll be reprising the role in The CW series.

According to the site that broke the news, this is a brand new interpretation of James Jesse (The Trickster). Here. he’ll be an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry and Det. West to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original’s deadly footsteps.

We won’t be seeing him in a costume then, but this is still pretty exciting and should be a really fun cameo!

“Having Mark reprise his role as The Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of The Flash,” says Andrew Kreisberg. “Christmas and Chanukah came early for us this year when he said yes! We are beyond humbled and excited to have him joining us for another round of deadly trickery!”

Between this, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and The Secret Service, 2015 promises to be a big year for Mark Hamill! Are you looking forward to seeing him play The Trickster again in The Flash?

We chatted to the man himself a while back…..
