Warner Bros. have a promising blockbuster on their hands for early next year in the form of Beautiful Creatures, a fantasy-drama that has the potential to be the first in a franchise coming soon after the final Twilight film next month.
We caught the first trailer and poster for the film a few weeks ago, and now the studio have released a great new featurette, taking us behind the scenes with the filmmakers and giving us a look at the production.
“A supernatural love story set in the South, “Beautiful Creatures” tells the tale of two star-crossed lovers: Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich), a young man longing to escape his small town, and Lena (Alice Englert), a mysterious new girl. Together, they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town.”
Rising young newcomers Alice Englert (Ginger & Rosa) and Alden Ehrenreich (Stoker) star in the leads alongside an impressive cast, headed up by the brilliant Emmy Rossum (The Phantom of the Opera), Emma Thompson (Love Actually), Jeremy Irons (Margin Call), and Viola Davis (The Help).
Oscar-nominated writer-director Richard LaGravenese (Water for Elephants) is behind the camera, directing from his own script, adapting the first in the best-selling series of novels by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.
Beautiful Creatures will be released in the UK and US on 13th February, 2013, perfectly positioned for the Valentine’s weekend, to attract the hearts of young romantics. For now, here’s the new featurette to give you a taste of what we have in store for us. Enjoy.
