The end credits of 22 Jump Street teased all of the preposterous plans for 23 Jump Street and beyond. It was a tongue in cheek sequence poking fun at sequels, but it’s fair to say we didn’t see this one coming!

According to a new report (the information once again originates from leaked Sony documents which are a result of the hack which has also seen details about Sony’s plans for Spider-Man find their way online), the plan for 23 Jump Street is to combine it with the Men in Black franchise. And no, we’re not joking!

The two inept cops played by Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will interact with the world of Men in Black, though it appears as if Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones won’t be included in the movie unless it’s a cameo.

It seems like this is more than just an idea too, as Phil Lord and Chris Miller are attached to produce, writer and possibly direct. According to the emails, it was Hill who talked Sony boss Amy Pascal into the crossover, with execs then giving the green light without a script due to the concept and talent involved.

The site that broke this news reveals that this is one of the highest profile projects in development at Sony, and the plan is to release it in 2016 or 2017. Could this lead to Hill and Tatum taking over the Men in Black franchise? It’s certainly an interesting idea, but we’ll have to wait and see how this one develops!
