Whilst a storm continues to brew over edits at the Weinstein Company, a new trailer has dropped for Bong Joon-ho’s highly anticipated Snowpiercer.
The brilliant first trailer dropped way back in June, whetting our appetite and raising the anticipation for the film, which is Jong-ho’s English language debut, and whilst the footage doesn’t differ largely, the new trailer does feature more of the film’s incredibly talented and diverse cast (including Octavia Spencer brutally assaulting the enemy) and teases more of Chris Evan’s character.
Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.
Alongside Evans and Spencer, Snowpiercer also stars Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Jamie Bell, Ed Harris and Alison Pill.
This is, however, a trailer aimed at Japanese audiences who are lucky enough to see the film next month, and unfortunately, there is still nothing new in regards to release dates for UK and US audiences.
