Josh Appelbaum and Andre  Nemec have reportedly written a script ready to shoot.

Brad Bird will be directing this instalment, with JJ Abrams remaining on board in some capacity,  as producer and screenplay-consultant. Tom Cruise has been tapped to return as Ethan Hunt,  especially since his career has been on a downward spiral, not helped by the lacklustre response  to this year’s action-comedy flick, Knight and Day. Rumours have suggested he will be handing the baton on to a younger candidate. However, this has neither been confirmed, nor denied.

Apart from that, details are thin on the ground, but with Pegg expected to make an appearance at Comic-Con, expect details to unravel for this one sooner rather than later.
