It’s about that time again ladies and gentlemen, the razor-teethed creatures of the sea are back for another round of mayhem and hilarity on the horizon with news that a 5th installment in the Sharknado series is on the way!
The hugely successful series of films shown on the SyFy channel and produced by The Asylum, is continuing with another equally spoofery title, with part five set to be called Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, with the hilarious tagline ‘Make America Bait Again!’ – little poke at President Trump there.
Further to both Ian Ziering and Tara Reid returning, the list of cameos is set to include model Fabio as the Pope, as well as Ton Hawk, Clay Aiken, Bret Michaels, Margaret Cho, Charo, Gilbert Gottfried, Porsha Williams, Chris Kattan, Cat Greenleaf, Dan Fogler, Ross Mullan and Olivia Newton-John and her daughter Chloe Lattanzi.
The first film was released in 2013 with the sequels following each year since: Sharknado 2: The Second One (2014), Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! (2015), Sharknado: The 4th Awakens (2016) and now Sharknado 5: Global Swarming (2017). The series is hugely popular all over the world and has even produced its own video game also. Will this be the final one? We doubt it, so long may they continue!!

In SHARKNADO 5: GLOBAL SWARMING, the mission gets personal for Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) and his bionic wife, April (Tara Reid) when their young son gets trapped in a traveling ‘nado and transported all over the world. From London to Rio, Tokyo, Rome, Amsterdam and beyond, our globetrotting heroes will seek assistance from a highly-skilled squad of royals, scholars and Olympians, enlisting famous faces from news, entertainment, and sports in their most epic battle yet.
Sharknado 5: Global Swarming is set to debut on SyFy on August 5th.
